Heroin overdose

I have seen a lot of interest in heroin overdose lately. I get a lot of search traffic for keywords like famous people who have died of an overdose from heroin and many similar terms.

One thing I know for sure it is not pretty seeing someone out cold and possibly dead. I have seen people who have overdosed on heroin get their pockets picked clean and any jewelry they were wearing was taken to. Let me tell you a story about a friend of mine who had a heroin overdose when I was like 17 years old. He died on the couch and the next morning when everyone woke up they found him lying there dead. Well anyway another person I hung out with went through his pockets and wallet and found his stash in the wallet and snatched it up. The ironic thing here is he shot the same heroin that killed my friend with a heroin overdose the night before.

I know that in the big cities that when addicts here about someone overdosing from heroin they try to find who is selling the same heroin. This makes no sense to me now that I am clean but I certainly understand this type of addict behavior.

If you think you may have a problem with heroin addiction or any other drug addiction for that matter I would suggest that you get some help as soon as you can because after all many people are dying from heroin overdose every day.

If you stop heroin now you can avoid becoming just another statistic. One way you can quit heroin is to go to heroin addiction rehab. If you do go you will go through a medical heroin detox. This detox will be performed by a trained medical staff who will administer prescription medications to help ease any discomfort from heroine withdrawal. This procedure normally takes around 5 days.

I would also suggest when finished that you continue your recovery in residential treatment. There you will learn how not to return to active addiction by attending group, lectures, 12 step meetings, and individual drug addiction therapy.

Good luck

When it comes to getting heroin addiction help heroin addicts are hard headed and as far as that goes most addicts I know are that way. As a rule drug addicts like to do things alone and that’s ok to a point but when it comes to heroin addiction recovery we must learn to ask for help.

We need to retrain ourselves in this area because we have to reach out to others if we wish to stop using and stay clean. Without heroin addiction help we are doomed from the get go. I know I tried to do it alone and I could stay clean for a short time and then I would use or relapse. I tried this countless times. I would attend a few meetings and think I had it all together and no longer needed meetings and quit going altogether. Big mistake I was using again within a couple of days tops.

Heroin addiction help

Now it does not have to be this way because we can start off knowing that we need some heroine addiction help and when we attend meetings reach out to others. Get phone numbers from other addicts and use them. Sometimes my phone seemed like it weighed a thousands pounds in the beginning when I was just learn to call other addicts whether I was doing good or bad. This became a habit and it is many years later and I still call my sponsor who is not only there to save my life but he is also a great friend. It does not always work out this way but if it does its icing on the cake.

How to overcome heroin addiction

It is my recommendation that from my experience that those who attend meetings regularly stay clean and those who don’t we do not have to worry about. I would suggest that if you are just getting clean that you attend meetings every day. Do this for 90 days and if you do not like it we will gladly refund you your misery. When I first got clean I did back to back 90 in 90’s. I know people who have went to meetings daily for a couple years or more.

The thing about this is that it requires action and commitment to not use no matter what!! I can say that I know without a doubt that any addict can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live clean.

Good luck

We welcome any recovery related comments or ways you got clean.

Heroine detox

Now days there are a lot of ways for an addict to go through heroine detox. There are private rehabs where one can be medically detoxed from heroin or you can kick heroin cold turkey in the privacy of your own home watching DVD’s but I would not recommend this route unless you have no other options.

The best option there is for heroine detox in my opinion can be done in a rehab. The type of rehab I would look for is one that has a medical detox and residential treatment combined.

Once there all of your needs will be looked after by a trained medical staff. They will administer prescription medications such as suboxone to help ease the pain of heroine withdrawal. For the most part this procedure is relatively painless once the medications you are given take effect. Nothing is really required of you while you are in detox so try to relax as much as you can.

When you are finished with your detox from heroine which will be in approximately 4 or 5 days you will enter residential treatment. There you will meet a lot of others just like yourself who are trying to stop using one kind of drug or another. While there you will be required to attend 12 step meetings, group, lectures, and individual counseling. Residential treatment can be any where from 2 to 3 weeks long. I would recommend that you pay attention to what they are trying to teach you because it may very well your life when you leave rehab.

I would also have a plan in place for when you leave treatment. This can consist of when and where you plan on attending meetings or individual drug addiction therapy. Without an after care plan you are doomed to fail and it will end miserably in relapse. If you do use again please do not hesitate to get back in treatment for another heroin detox if you need too. It takes many of us more than one try to get it right I know it did me for sure.

Good luck

Herion detox; options are open to users who want to get clean. It is common for those who are trying to terminate heroin usage and addiction to experience severe withdrawals. Addiction to heroin is quick and hard to overcome. In order to soften the blow of the heroin withdrawal symptoms, new and improved methods of safely performing a herion detox have been developed.

Black tar heroin

The most common method for herion detox is opioid antagonist drug therapy. This technique involves the administration of a prescription drug (i.e. Methadone) which allows the body to slowly acclimate to the absence of heroin. These medications are opoids, but are different than heroin in that they do not provide the body with the euphoric high achieved through heroin usage. Opioid antagonist drugs function similarly to heroin, tricking the body so that there is a marked reduction in severity of withdrawals. These drugs eliminate withdrawal symptoms completely.

There is a faster detox procedure which has proven to be quite effective which allows patients to use a faster herion detox with the assistance of anesthetics. This approach is said to be quick and painless, but is often times quite dangerous. This treatment has been shown to increase risk of death, heart failure, and mental disorders.

Other drug therapy proven safe for assistance with heroin withdrawal makes use of the drug Lofexidine. Classically used as an anti-hypertensive, this drug is not an opiod and so is safer than most approaches. It is the newest to the market, and is only used to ease withdrawals, not to eliminate the painful process as methadone does.

stop using heroin These are some good options for any addict who truly has the desire to and find a new way to live. Regardless which way you choose to quit heroin you will need some help to stay clean and recovery does not stop with the heroin detox. We must continue rigorously if we wish to keep our new found sobriety. We can do this by attending NA meetings daily.

Vicodin Addiction Help Options

Vicodin is an opiate drug and is very addicting when abused. Vicodin addiction help options are available if you know what to seek. Long term use of opiate drugs such as Vicodin can cause both mental and physical addiction. Mental addiction causes the brain to think differently, you lose interest in things that were once important. Physical addiction can be building up a tolerance to the drug so it takes more to get the same effects. In my opinion this is the onset of vicodin addiction.

Most people are prescribed Vicodin to get rid of pain after an injury or surgery. Sometimes it’s abused and can become addictive very quickly, leading to many problems. In worse case scenarios a person can end up in jail. No one starts out to be an addict but it does happen. Vicodin withdrawal symptoms can be very hard, and most addicts continue to take the drug to keep from feeling sick from vicodin withdrawl. It has been my experiencing that a lot of addicts including myself are terrified of this.

There are many different help options to treat Vicodin addiction, including inpatient treatment. Inpatient treatment can be for as little as 14 days or from 6 to 2 years. Outpatient treatment cost less than inpatient and is mostly used for someone that has a good support system and can’t take time off from work.

Short term residential treatment is for 3 to 4 weeks. One option is a medical detox, where a patient is under anesthesia and given medication to make withdrawing from the drug easier. Methadone treatment is another option, methadone is a long acting synthetic opiate given over a period of time, daily or three times a week with take homes. Methadone can help make Vicodin withdrawal easier to handle so the patient is able to function somewhat normal and keep a job. Counseling as well as going to meetings, like NA can be useful.

A person should not stop taking Vicodin or any opiate without the help of a doctor. Check what type of help options are available for your addiction.

Heroin help

In our society today many people need heroin help. If you think you may have a problem with heroin, I would strongly suggest that you get some heroin. This drug can be deadly. Heroin is made from the opium poppy. It only takes several days of heroin use to be come addicted to this drug. Realizing that you have an addiction is the first part of solving this problem. The fact that you are reading this heroin addiction help blog is a big start for you.

Getting heroin help

There are several places that you can visit for heroin detox help. I would start out by searching online. If you don’t feel comfortable going to an NA meeting, try calling a drug help line. These people are trained to walk you through steps in making this work. Take their advice and remember they are trying to help you heal your body. They are there to help you and not to hurt you.

You can also attend a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. They will let you just sit back and listen. If you prefer, you can speak about your problems. They will offer you advice concerning heroin help also. You should be able to find someone in you area to help and encourage you.

This cat is tore up from the floor up!

Heroin withdrawal

Heroin withdrawal can be painful and last for several days. Just remember that once it is done you will never have to go through it again. This should also keep you from starting it up again. Remember this pain and that you don’t want to have to withdraw again from your lapse of judgment. Stay away from the friends who were talking you into doing drugs. They are not a good influence and will just get you back in the same situation again.

It has been my experience that you will find new friends that are true friends with only your best interest at heart not like are old rent a buddies. They were only there when we had dope or money.

I would suggest you stop using heroin now and take some action to get clean. Heroin is a tough nut to crack but I have seen many dope fiends beat heroin addiction and find a new way to live with a little heroin help from others. I am firm believer that any addict can stop using for just one day. Then all you have to do is keep repeating this every day. That’s what I did and I am certainly glad to be clean.

One more thing that I would like to share is that the best relapse prevention is to keep active in your recovery but if you do happen to use again just remember to “keep coming back”!!

Good luck

Rapid Heroin Detox

Rapid heroin detox is a medical procedure that is performed under anesthesia where the patient is administered a controlled immersion of opiate antagonists to achieve complete system detoxification in an accelerated period of hours rather than days or weeks. This cleansing process is performed while the patient is sleeping and eliminates the suffering and cravings that accompany physical withdrawal from addiction. Although this treatment is still considered experimental; studies have shown it to have a higher success rate than traditional heroin detox methods where long hospital stays may be required.

Rapid heroin detox

These procedures are performed in a full service rapid heroin detox facilities under strict medical supervision. Follow up plans are created addressing psychological issues and providing life skills to assist in the recovery process.

While this procedure is being used with increasing success, there is no blanket guarantee that the patient will not experience some adverse effects. Because he or she has received a complete system detoxification, his tolerance level has returned to zero. Therefore a “fix” can result in a heroin overdose or death. Some patients may also be at risk if they cannot tolerate the anesthesia which allows them to sleep during detox. Thyroid problems have also been known to develop following rapid heroin detox.

Costs can range from $7500.00 to $10,000.00 depending on a number of factors, such as the drug used and the patients medical history.

Today this procedure is more widely recognized as the solution for returning patients to a productive life in a matter of days freeing them from the adverse and uncontrollable symptoms of addiction.

There are drawbacks to this procedure one being that there is no follow up care after the rapid opiate detox. The other is patients have actually died from complications of this procedure. Some patients report being that they are very satisfied with procedure while others say it is lacking. The choice is yours to make but you must take action and stop using heroin some kind of way no matter what!

Good luck

How to help an alcoholic

When you are faced with the question of how to help an alcoholic there is unfortunately no easy solution from my experience with addiction it is not going to be easy. There are many options which are available when you get right down to how to help an alcoholic that is providing that you are willing and able to help. If the alcoholic is one of your loved ones; chances are you have been enabling their addiction for a number of years. So in order to help with alcoholism the first place you must start is with you. If you can admit you have been enabling this behavior and allowing it to continue; you must now commit to changing your own behavior.

What this means is do not loan them any money they probably will only drink it up and this will delay them getting any type of help. Stick to your guns if they get in trouble do not bail them out let them sit no matter how much they beg and say they will stop drinking they must learn from their mistakes. What you can do though is offer to drive them to treatment when they get out this is probably a very good way to help an alcoholic at this point.

How to help an alcoholic beat their alcoholism

Now, once you have your heart and mind set on helping with the alcoholics problem, the next important step is to make this person see the effects on the family alcohol creates. Chances are they already know they have a problem; only they lie to themselves that their alcoholism isn’t affecting their loved ones. Sit them down, talk quietly to them about how the alcoholism makes you feel. It is important to never yell; once you begin to yell at them the alcoholic will want to run and hide; only it’s inside of a bottle where they will hide. So in essence this is not the way how to help an alcoholic.

If you can make them see how bad the problem is, hopefully the alcoholic will seek treatment. Nothing you can do will help if they don’t agree to help themselves. If your one on one talk doesn’t help them then there is still another way how to help an alcoholic is that you can try an intervention with the whole family. The most important thing to help alcoholism, is keeping open the lines of communication.

It may take time, hopefully they will come around and for the most part this is the best you can do when it comes to down to how to help them to overcome their alcoholism. Lastly there is one other way help an alcoholic and this is to get them them into some type of rehab that is if they are willing.

Good luck

How to help an alcoholic overcome alcoholism

I am not so sure you can convince an alcoholic to enter treatment if they are not ready unless they are forced to by a court or probation officer or something similar. Here’s why unless the person in question has had enough and is ready to surrender it will do little good for them to go to drug and alcohol rehab anyway.

Stop drinking and drugging

I know that I new when I was ready because I was beaten down and tore up from the floor up I wanted to stop drinking and drugging in the worst possible way the problem was I did not know how. So what I am saying here is there is nothing you can do for the alcoholic that refuses to surrender to the fact that the booze and drugs have won. They need to admit complete and utter defeat then they may have a chance of a lifetime to actually change their life and Overcome addiction in Drug and alcohol rehab.

How to help an alcoholic overcome alcoholism

Now once someone has gotten to this point there is not a lot that you can not do that will not help them stop drinking or enter rehab. In other words anything you do or say to them about going to treatment may just help at this point. If they have not reach this point of surrender then nothing you say is going to matter it will basically go in one ear and out the other.

In my opinion this person is still struggling with trying to control their drinking and everything else. They will swear up and down that they do not have a problem and more than likely will lay the blame for their drinking on anything at all.

The best way to how to help an alcoholic like this is to quit helping them period. Do not loan them any money they will only drink it up and it will inevitably delay any chance of help for them. Another thing while I am talking about this subject do not bail them out of jail. They will call and tell you a sob story about how they are though drinking this time for real. Let me repeat that again do not bail them out but tell them you will drive them to treatment when they do get out. This is the best way I know to how to help an alcoholic overcome alcoholism.

How do can you actually tell when they’ve surrendered? Again I would have to say when the person asks for help. This pretty much means that they agree to run the show your way and give up on there ideals. When they throw up their arms like this they may say something like the NA basic text talks about I’ll do whatever is asked of me. I need someone to show me how to live. This is what I mean by surrender. That is what I would say is a great starting to stop drinking and overcome alcoholism.

I got clean and found a new way to live by going to drug

Heroin Detox help

A person who uses Heroin on a daily basis is going to need some heroin detox help sooner or later because it is an extremely addictive opiate. A person that is addicted to heroin is used to taking large amounts of the drug. Therefore, when an addict decides to stop heroin, the body will go through a devastating withdrawal. Millions of people have to go through a heroin detox every year.

A heroin detox is one of the hardest detoxes that a drug addict can go through. Some of the withdrawal symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, exhaustion, anger, depression, suicidal thoughts, seizures, convulsions, tremors, and in some cases even death has occurred in people with poor health.

Heroin detox help

If you happen to have a friend or someone that you love is addicted to heroin and wants to kick heroin, it is very important that you do not stop taking the heroin all at once. Stopping abruptly can not only make the withdrawal symptoms severe, but can actually kill you if you are in poor health. It is highly recommended that you only go through heroin detox under the care of a physician.

The best way to get clean is in a heroin rehabilitation center or a hospital. There are several heroin addcition rehab centers out there that specialize in overcoming heroin addiction. There are also medications that the doctor can prescribe for you that will help with the side effects of detox.

These medications are highly addictive as well, and should only be taken in a controlled environment. They also should only be taken by the person they are prescribed for. I know in my case I was always looking for the eaiser softer way so I would self medicate with the drugs I thought would help. I was just basically switching drugs.

Heroin has one of the highest dropout rates, when it comes to rehabilitation. Nevertheless, with the right help and support, getting clean is definitely possible.

If you happen to have an addiction to heroin you may benefit from trying 12 step meetings like Narcotics Anonymous. People around the world are experiencing freedom from active addiction by attending these meetings and you can too. If you are just getting clean I would recommend that you attend meetings daily maybe even make a commitment to go to 90 meetings in 90 days. I know that I did it and it really help me get a grip on my heroin addiction. Do what ever you have to but stop using heroin now before its too late.

Good luck

Heroin Detox: What You Need To Know

Heroin detox is difficult time in the life of the addict; in fact, it is one of the most terrifying aspects of recovery. Heroin is a strong opiate that is injected into the veins, smoked in a pipe, or snorted through the nose. It is one of the hardest drugs to stop using, and recovery from this drug can be a long and painful process for the user during their heroin detox.

There are both mental and physical withdrawal symptoms from heroin use which can cause a great deal of stress and pain on the addict. It has been said that it is pure hell. Symptoms give the total opposite effect of the drug, and the mental sickness can be the worst part of it all. Withdrawals can result in insomnia, body aches, seizures, convulsions, anxiety, vomiting, and even death in severe cases where the person is in poor health during heroin detox. Withdrawal symptoms usually start within 2 days of the detox stage.

A natural Heroin detox lasts for a period of 3 to 7 days. In severe cases the detox can last up to two weeks. The goal of the detox is to re balance the body’s chemical balance. Medications including sedatives and narcotics are given to subside some of the pain. Once detox is over, treatment in an inpatient treatment facility is needed.

Black tar heroin

During the detox stage, the patient will be closely monitored and their vital signs and stats regularly to ensure serious reactions are not occurring. Extra nutrients will be given to replace those that have been lost. Special medications will be given to nurse the body back to a healthy state.

Recovering from heroine addiction is a long process that can take many months or years to address all of the emotional and physical problems the drug causes on a person. Detox is the first stage in recovery that weans the body of the drug.

Another heroin detox strategies is that there are treatment facilities in most cities across the world that can assist in an opiate detox. When the detox is over the patient can be moved right into residential treatment. While it is not easy, overcoming an addiction to heroin is possible. Life can be lived happily, without drugs once again after proper and continued treatment lost dreams start to awaken as we live our new life. Once you know that you are addicted to heroin there are no more excuses you must stop using heroin or I can just about guarantee you that you will either end up in jail, or institution, or die and they don’t have to come in that order. Get help today and be free from active addiction.

Good luck

Heroine addiction is one of the most widespread social problems in the world today. Heroin is an opiate derivative that is most commonly delivered through an injection, but may be introduced to the body in several other ways. In recent years, it has been noted that it is also sniffed or in other word snorted or very recently smoking heroin has become popular with our youth. This is most likely due to the fear of contracting H.I.V or of injecting heroine. as opposed to other risks such as septicemia. Heroin is one of the most commonly abused drugs due to the fact that the effects of intoxication are felt almost immediately. The user will experience a false sense of euphoria that can last from as little as several minutes up to several hours. Abusers of this drug may appear drowsy or lethargic in nature to the addict this is called nodding.

Heroin is a highly addictive drug, both physically and psychologically. Heroine addiction dependency typically starts off with the psychological dependency, with the user simply trying to escape into a temporary bliss. The drug dramatically slows the rate of respiration and the heart beat rate. New users are more prone to experiencing an overdose, as their bodies have not yet built up a tolerance.

The symptoms of heroine withdrawal may manifest within a matter of hours from the last delivered dose. Heroin withdrawal symptoms are described as painful with fits of anxiety, restlessness, and symptoms similar to the flu. It is recommended that a person experiencing heroin withdrawal to do so with medical assistance.

How to stop using heroine

This can be done in heroin addiction rehab. Upon entry to rehab the addict will be looked after by a staff of medical personal who will administer medications such as suboxone to help ease the effects of withdrawal. Now this kind of heroin detox will take at most 5 days but I strongly recommend that you continue your recovery in residential treatment.

where you will learn some new behavioral ideas to help you to keep from returning to active addiction when you leave heroin addiction rehab. The key here is that it take action on your part to make this happen. I would not hesitate because in all reality your life depends on it. I am fond of saying that any addict that is any addict can stop using, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live so can you! It takes what it takes to kick heroin do not ever give up no matter how many heroin detox you have to go through. It took me over 30 years to get any substantial clean time.

Heroine dependency and abuse affects not only the user, but everyone around them. If you quit using things are bound to get better.

Good luck

This is something that could really save your loved one’s life. The following are some of the things that a heroin addiction rehab center can offer you and your loved one.

The first step of overcoming such a difficult addiction is to work through the physical part of the addiction. Heroin takes it toll on the body. This is why it’s an addiction that is hard to beat. The body comes to crave the item. Thus, once use is ended, a person will experience some painful withdrawal symptoms. The staff at a respectable heroine addiction rehab center can help the person deal with such effects by using methadone and pain reliever items. While the individual beats the physical side effects, the staff at this center will be there to help him or her through it.

The next step to overcoming addiction is to deal with the emotional and psychological effects of addiction. This is where the staff comes into play they will be there for support during your heroin detox. There are a wide range of therapies and treatments available to people who are addicted to heroin as well as to other drugs. Here, a person can really understand why they have tried and have become addicted to heroin so that they can break this vicious and life-threatening addiction. Why not stop using today and find a new way to live?

I am pretty sure a lot of people do not know that using tramadol will lead to tramadol addiction in fact a lot of Dr’s prescribe this medication believing this to be true but I am here to tell you that there are a lot of addicts out there suffering with many of the symptoms of a full blown that possibly may have been prevented if they had known they would lead to tramadol addiction.

If you are having these symptoms then I would suggest that you get some kind of help one of the best things you can do for yourself at this point is to let the prescribing physician know what is going on.

How to overcome tramadol addiction

Withdrawal Symptoms

The symptoms withdrawal from the Tramadol include throwing up, diarrhea, horrible pain, sick-feeling, anxiety, sadness, body aches, cold sweats, and cascading body reactions. Many people would describe themselves as people who can function while feeding their tramadol addiction, while they struggle to hold jobs or responsibilities.

Additional symptoms of continued use of the painkiller include headaches, flu-like symptoms, loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, and moodiness.

Tramadol is prescribed to treat chronic pain and mood disorders. People often use the drug for recreational use because of the good feeling that the drug causes. This painkiller is not as potent as some other drugs though. Tramadol is dangerous if taken without the permission of a doctor because it causes convulsive overdose symptoms. Really high doses can cause seizures.

Tramadol can also be given to patients who have stopped taking more powerful opiates such as oxycodone and hyrocodone.

Responsible and safe opiate detoxification processes, with the latest technology, can lessen the risk of experiencing the harmful tramadol withdrawal symptoms.

If you or somebody you care for has an addiction, get them help. If nothing else has worked, put them through a detoxification program. It can be reversed. An addiction to anything is harmful to your health, so do something about it. Help the ones you love, you could be saving their life.
